"With help from CitiesAlive, I attended last year's conference. At the event, I met several green roof business owners, heard professionals speak about green projects, and toured one of the largest green roofs in the world on the US Coast Guard HQ. It is a well-balanced conference I recommend to anyone interested in green infrastructure" - Drew Vandegrift, Michigan State University CitiesAlive 2016 Student Scholarship Recipient.
CitiesAlive allows students to customize their learning experience and choose from technical sessions that suit their interest. The Design Track looks at green roof and wall design, designing for stormwater management and creating socially just and sustainable communities. The Research Track explores innovative research on sedum survival, urban agriculture drivers, and comparative green roof case studies. The Policy Track features the work of policymakers across North America and the paths they took to implement green roof and wall policies to combat climate change, social inequality, and poor water quality. All these topics and more can be found in the conference agenda here.
Student Scholarships have access to the keynote presentations, technical sessions, tradeshow, and the Awards of Excellence Luncheon, but can purchase tickets to any training, tour, or networking event during registration.
The Student Sponsorship is made possible by the generous support of Hunter Industries. Hunter Industries is a global leader in manufacturing water efficient, and easy to use irrigation systems.
