Passive Rainwater Harvesting: Earthworks and Rain Gardens

  • Virtual Presentation (map)

This presentation will be a broad level, 30 minute overview of how diverse landscapes can be effectively utilized to absorb rainwater directly on site, thereby significantly reducing stormwater runoff. This process is commonly referred to as passive rainwater harvesting, as we are actively encouraging individuals and communities to leverage their soils as the natural water harvesting vessels. In this discussion, we will showcase various examples and techniques that illustrate these concepts in action.
